How to Learn Robotics

About this English edition

This is the English edition of a handbook originally written in Chinese. It was translated with the help of an AI assistant (Claude) and reviewed by the author. Where a passage reads oddly, the Chinese original is the source of truth — and corrections via pull request are very welcome.

This handbook is for people who are not classically trained in robotics. It maps out a path for teaching yourself the field — from the prerequisites, through the fundamentals and the more advanced material, all the way to embodied AI — with a round of hands-on practice at every stage.

The Chinese original

The project is written and maintained in Chinese at learn-robotics.qqfly.net. That version is the source of truth, and it is usually a few steps ahead of this translation.

Contributing and feedback

This handbook was put together in a short stretch of time, so it surely has gaps and rough edges. That is part of why it lives on GitHub as an open-source project: edit anything and open a pull request, or file an issue if something looks wrong.
